so far...

we implemented a new rule on the yard for the weekends..

no parking on the yard from 9am until 5pm (unless unloading eetc etc)

Thought we would do this as we had over 9 cars parked on the yard last week at one time!

I cannot believe the difference..the yard is so much bigger and people can avoid each other quite happily....

*sigh*

Sorry I'm probably being a bit slow here but can people only visit before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. or are they just parking in a different designated parking area?

If you want your yard to be a ghost town then that decision may work for you but to ban cars from the yard between those times in my mind is ridiculous. Owners have to come, feed, muck out & turn out & be gone by 9am & not come back to the yard before 5pm.

Many liveries at our yard (26 horses) live quite some distance from the yard & have to come by car. Cars cannot be parked in the road outside so need to be parked at the yard. To order that an owner cannot come & see their horse, & that's what you are saying, between 9am & 5pm, which is during the hours of daylight in the winter is ridiculous in the extreme. It's a wonder you have any liveries left at your yard. No wonder you will have plenty of room, there will be no one there.

thats right weezy...we have parking off the yard....its just that we are en enclosed courtyard style of yard with a large space in the middle where everyone normally parks.....just at the weekends there are so many people it is (health and safetywise) for everyonr to park just outside.

Just to make that clear...we are not banning people from seeing their horses...we are just asking them to move cars off the yard physically for the weekends!

Ah, that makes more sense. It's a recipe for disaster I expect having everyone parked on the yard then.....
