I took my 6 year old collie x to the vet earlier this week as she has been having problems with her back legs following a dip in the water

Everytime she goes swimming, which she totally loves she is so still behind, taking very short steps and so on.

The vet said she is tender and is getting early onset arthritus as she is over weight.

She has now had her food cut, but is geing given so little (half a can of dog meat a day with some mixer) that I would ideally like to have both my bogs on a light dried food, epically coming into the summer, can anyone reccommend a good feed?

Thanks in advance

Arden Grange light or Iams light both work for Henry.

You could also try hydrotherapy to build her muscles as it is non-weightbearing exercise - the vet might need to refer you though.

Henry has cod liver oil for his hips - one a day of the human capsules on the vets advice. Makes his coat shiny too!

Brill thank you all, I think I will start with the lower priced sacks and go up if they son't like it!

and yep treats are very sparce now! my other dog comes to me when fat dog isn't around!
