i am planning to get a double stable/field shelter for my field so that when i need to have one on box rest they can see their friends however my fields are ridge and furrow and the flattest areas where i could best site this are south facing but very near a large tree which worries me when its windy although could chop some of it down or east facing with a good hedge behind it . i suspect south is ideal but they would be in their main stables at night ,im just trying to make life a bit easier .

South facing can get very hot. I'd take into account your prevailing wind too.
The last lot I had constructed were east facing and that worked well. We were in a north/south valley though.
