best feed for 6 mth old section D for optimum growth?

as title....just put deposit on sec d colt 6 mths old with cascob breeding - beautiful little boy going to keep him on as a stallion also. want a good all round feed for optimum growth?

any ideas, ?

I like to keep it natural, so Alfa a, sugerbeet, and good hay.
Don't over feed, no feed will provide " more growth"

I'm no expert but would have thought that grass and good hay would be all a native foal would need.

No i wouldn't bother, if he is in good bodily condition a handful of high fibrenuts/alfa a will be ok.

The thing is, youngstock cubes are developed based on the needs of TB youngstock being prepped for the sale ring, so not really suitable for natives.
I fed my youngster D&H Suregrow.

I always go for something like fast fibre and a supplement, with some good hay. With Ben, I used to have to add a handful of hifi too because he didn't like slop, but I don't hold with pumping them full of anything other than fibre and the required vits and minerals

I don't know what area of the country you are in, but about 70% of the UK is deficient in selenium (essential for muscle health, healthy immune and reproductive systems) so on the basis of that alone, I would definitely be giving the recommended daily ration of a good vit/min supplement or balancer providing around 1mg/day of organic selenium (aka selenium yeast)/500kg horse.

The one I'd opt for would be Blue Chip original.

Really important to make sure he gets all the rights vits/mins, especially at his young age.
