I have a 7 year old 17.3hh Heavy weight gelding . He can never be ridden or worked due to joint problems and has been putting weight on this year. I just wondered the best type of feed for weight loss would it be a low cal chaff i.e Dengie Lite with feed balancer or something like Healthy hoof (from dengie). Because of his joint he needs the vitamins and oils but i am unsure which one would benefit him.

i feed mine (18 something hh H/W) just the full top spec balancer ration. he has apples/carrots to avoid the disgusted look when he finishes in two mouthfuls :)

He's on 24/7 turn out on good grazing
