ok, just bought a yearling section a gelding, quite poor - but is now on good grass of mine, am going to worm him today - just wondering whats the best feed to give him for optimum growth, but in the same breath dont want to overload his young bones and joints and he is absolutely tiny!!! x

Mine get naff all apart from a handful of chaff to get vits in. Its honestly all they need. The grass will pick him up in no time, until then, if you are really worried, adlib hay.

Hi, i got a yearling sec A last month. He was with a herd of young ones but was the runt i think as all the others picked on him and he was extremely timid and i couldnt get near him.
5 weeks on and he leads in hand, walk trot and canter (if i can run fast enough!!) picks up all 4 feet, stands to be groomed and is good around kids. I think its important that they get nutrients and vitamins through feed so i give mine alfalfa A and baileys no 7 stud cubes, they are good for growing bones etc.
Hes doing great now and looks really healthy. Good luck with yours x
