I am looking after an 18 month old Sec c gelding, (he will be 2 in July) He is my TBs stable companion and I have offered to take care of him to help his owner. He is out all day and in at night with plenty of good hay, he also gets a mugful of hi fibre nuts in his treat ball and 2 feeds a day of molassed chaff with a few more nuts in. I dont think the molassed feed is a good idea, he is plenty round enough for January and I think the sugar may be partly to blame for his naughtiness. I have suggested HI fi lite instead with a few veggies in it, the nuts in the treat ball and as much hay as he wants. Am I missing anything important, vits and mins!! He is a cheeky lad and this summer I will be started to long rein him (only a few mins at a time) to try and give him something to think about.
