I bought a fly mask for Ethel, she only has a small head so I thought a medium would be fine, but the nose bit is elasticated and has rubbed her nose raw which has been made worse by the noseband of her bridle and headcollar, so for now they have fleece covers on until its gone. I've gotten her another one, different make in large, I haven't yet seen it on her as it was delivered after I went on holiday so my friend who has been looking after her put it on her and said she was unsure if it fitted so she left it on but it came off, so I'm guessing its too big for her. What fly masks do you all have that fit nicely and which ones would you not buy??

Ive tried lots of different makes but the one i found best was given to me!

It is from robinsons and is lycra with a zip, so there is no way a fly can get in and my horses hasnt got it off once.

The others ive tried flys can get into.
One was too small around my warmbloods cheek but massive above his eyes!

Cashel are great and have lots of different styles and sizes. I have a full nose with ears for my mare. She's a 15.3 anglo arab and I got the cob/arab and it fits beautifully. I also tried it on me ;) and you can see through it very easily!

Ahh thank you :) Have looked on robinsons so many times but never saw that one for some reason!! Shall have a look at the one I've got her now which I got off robinsons but cant remember which one it is :p If it doesnt fit I'll either send it back or sell it on eBay and I'll try this one, will get a nedium AND a large though to make sure one of them fits!

Another vote for Cashel, they come in loads of sizes so you can get a really good fit and they stand up to frequent trips through the washing machine :)

Looking at the Cashel ones now, Eth is a TB, her headcollars are cob size, so should I get the Arab/Cob size?? Not buying yet btw, just looking to see how much it would be :)

Buying rugs, masks and things for our horses is terrible.

I think its worse than buying clothes for ourselves!

Such decisions!

Haha definalty agree :) On the subject of rugs, happen to know where I can get a few decent winter rugs, stable and T/O, without spending all my pennies?? :)
