Looking for a hat camera that's easy to use and fit to my hat for riding. It would need to record around 2/3 hours worth of footage.
Do people fine drivers are more curtious when they can see they are on camera?
I'm very lucky mine is normally very good in traffic however some of the drivers we meet get far to close and hoping this may make them take notice

I highly recommend the Ion air pro cameras. Attached with a elastic band strap around the hat. Lots of features like vibrate when you switch it on, you so can switch it on when it is mounted. Being able to take pics whilst vidoeing. And it is water proof so no need for that daft plastic case!

I have a bullet shaped camera. I have an elasticated band that goes around my hat with two elastic hoops sewn on that you place the camera in.

My personal view is that I'm far less likely to land on my camera and cause injury than I am to be injured by poor driving, so I think it is worth the risk. I can also confirm that the band set up I mention above will ping off the hat if you land on it (tried and tested!) no damage to my head, my hat or my camera. I imagine there is a very specific way you would have to land on it to cause harm, which I find fairy unlikely.

Do I think drivers slow down more with it on - yes but only if they can see it. So wearing it on a dark band on a dark hat is less effective than wearing it over a bright hat silk. I'm also about to order myself some customised tabards that have the camera logo on the front to see if this helps. I'm keeping please pass wide and slow on the back.

I wear a go pro on an elasticated hat band. Never noticed any difference from traffic at all.

Just bumping this up as looking at the go pro + and wondered if anyone had used these? They look a bit bulkier than some of the bullet type cameras but better spec, thank you :)

Does the camera come with the hat band or do you have to buy it or invent your own?

I have the Drift Stealth 2 on an elasticated hi-vis hat-band. It's ace and I've definitely seen a difference in driver's reactions. I've even been able to give positive feedback to Countrywide with one of their oil-tanker drivers with it :)

I hadn't seen this one before, looks ideal and good spec too. Thank you

Eta do you need to buy an attachment to fit to our riding hat? I have a hat band and it looks like it may attach to that?

I used an Airowear hi-vis hat band (http://www.aivly.co.uk/shop/products/id/30916.htm#.Vuh4SMdsyiI) that I already had. It fits the goggle mount that comes with it perfectly! You can buy a strap specifically for it (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Drift-Hea...479755?hash=item1e9cf76c8b:g:rwIAAOSw~otWd9sq), but I didn't need to.

I would recommend getting the remote (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRIFT-HD-...813079?hash=item1c4e019dd7:g:QFsAAOSwBahU2zzk), not essential but makes like easier and you can take still shots mid-video with it :)
