as title, already have a pulsed magnetic unit to use in between chiro appt's, but want a soothing heat pad to use too.

hot water bottle not cutting it as wont get hot enough/stay hot enough.

thanks :)

I use Nurofen heat pads. They go directly on to the skin and are immensely soothing.

I have tried others which you have to stick to the OUTSIDE of your clothes - they were useless and very awkward to keep in place.

Have you tried the ones which are disposable and stick to you like a giant sticking plaster and you can get them in the chemists? Think I had some called salonpas and some others that came in a period pain variety too. If I see them in the shop I will post back with the name. Anyway they do get really hot after half an hour or so and stay hot for hours so may be an option?

My physio told me to buy a wheat bag to use on evenings, you can get lavender ones, bob them in the microwave to warm up, alternatively you can also use them for cold therapy too.

Just make sure you buy the ones that stick directly to your skin, as the ones you stick on your clothes just don't give out enough heat IMO. That's why I said Thermacare as they are the only ones I know without anti-inflammatories in them, that you put directly on skin.
The lower back wrap is adjustable as well, you can put it all over, really :)
Unfortunately, they are about £2-3 a pop  which although little amount of money, becomes a bit expensive after a while, they work for 8-10 hours.

I've had some issues with back muscle pain.

I've found the Blazewear gear to be really good. I got a bodywarmer with heat pads in it - brilliant! Different heat settings. Rechargeable battery. Lasts about five hours on full.

The physio and the Equipilates have both helped a lot.

Can I just say be careful with these sticky heat pads. I bought some for my husband and they made his skin blister, the blisters burst when we peeled the pads off. It was quite nasty.
