Any recommendations to try please?
Having such a hard time replacing my (very old) champion helmet.
Tried some evoke this weekend at Blenheim horse trials and couldn’t get a good fit, found it either to tight in my forehead or to loose on the back. He said they’re round shaped.

I’ve also tried Karben, but I been told to stay away from dial up helmets?

Charles Owen, my friend has the same shape and she tried loads at Burghley and ended up with a Charles Owen adjustable one, not sure which model but it’s worth trying some Charles Owen ones?

2nd charles owen.
I too have an oval head and CO seem to suit best.

Still need to try, as some of theirs are round. I had wanted a Kylo for ages but it didn't fit at all.

I had a similar problem when I recently replaced mine. Only two in the entire shop (within my budget) came close. The adjustable Charles Owen MIPS fit me well in terms of shape (but it was slightly too perched in the smallest size) and so did the Pikeur Abus, which is what I ended up buying. Both adjustable, though.

ohh I'm mightily relieved that I'm not the only one who isn't a "roundhead"!!!

try Charles Owen's child ones. That's what I've got. And don't take any BS from hat fitters trying to say that they're not "compliant" and/or you need an adult one. I really wanted a ventilated (endurance style) one, but sadly can't find anything to fit.

If you can find one to try, I'd recommend the Pikeur Abus for that. It doesn't look hugely ventilated, but it actually is and lets quite a bit of air through (I'd say as much as the Uvex one I had a few years back).

I have a very narrow oval head and found that the only hat in my local tack shop that fitted, including dial-fit models, was the Evoke Orion jockey skull. The Evoke Calisto peaked helmet was no good at all, much to my dismay. The Orion is genuinely the most comfortable hat I’ve ever had, and I normally struggle because of my head shape.

I spoke to one of the Evoke fitters at Scone, who told me that their new model of peaked helmet, coming out at the end of this year/early next year, will have a more oval shape and should work for me.

I’m afraid I don’t have any other recommendations, but if you can wait a few months, it might be worth trying their new one.

I always thought the Champions fit oval heads and Charles Owen the rounder ones. I have a Champion which fits me nicely. When I've tried COs they've been really tight front to back and gappy at the sides, Gatehouses are even worse on me.
