Anyone know of any good hoof supplements?? Dont say Grand Hoof, have had trouble with deliveries so not using them anymore. Oh and that arent ridiculously expensive.
After trying loads I've found my lad is better on a full dose of Feedmark's Benevit rather than a specific hoof supplement. The only possible explanation I can think of for this is that all the hoof supplements seem to upset his stomach to some degree so maybe he doesn't get the full benefit of them. I'm not complaining though as Benevit works out considerably cheaper!
I sometimes use a bespoke hoof supplement called tenderfoot 80 made up by Trinity Consultants. They do a number of hoof supplements and will reccommend which is best according to what your horses specific foot problem is. Its not too expensive and the horse may only need to be on it for a month or two as it works quickly. I was very sceptical at first but it improved my horses foot quality within a couple of weeks and caused them to grow so much they needed trimmng 3 weeks after starting on it

One of mine is on this and difference is noticeable. its approx £50 for 3 months supply- I think the trick with hoof supplements is to start feeding them a few months before the summer starts or keep them on it all year round.
Top spec balancer includes hoof supplement in feed. www.horsesupplementsdirect.co.uk do a good hoof supplement delivered free £27 for 3 months supply.I have used both and only changed because I needed balancer.
I used bog-standard NAF biotin last year, it worked wonders. This year my horse is on a mega diet so I'm not feeding her any chaff for a powder to go into, so she's on the best pelleted hoof and GP supplement I could find, Formula 4 Feet. My friend's recovering laminitic is also on this... hopefully we'll start seeing both of them improve in the next few weeks/month
