Can anyone recommend a good company to go with for horse insurance?

Current policy is with E & L and they are nothing short of a nightmare to deal with!

There was a thread on here yeserday abou insurance, SEIB and KBIS I think are the most popular with people on here.... big no no to E&L like you said, a nightmare to deal with and have heard various nightmare stories about them :)

Have just called Petplan, KBIS and SEIB asking questions about their policies.
KBIS were, by far, the most helpful and I am probably going to take out insurance with them

I got a big cheque from KBIS in yesterday's post, no questions asked and turned around in two working days from receipt of claim form. They're also very helpful if you ring up with a query. To date I'm very impressed.

I've been with seib for years with 4 different horses. All had big big claims for more than one problem. Seib have always paid really quickly
One claim for Lou too

I am with Petplan equine and really happy with them. Had a small claim (£375) paid a few months ago and have just had to speak to them about another claim I need to make which will be on-going and large. They cover my 20 year old for full illness and accident fees and settle with my vet direct. Always pleasant when I call, so all-in-all, although they may not be the cheapest, I'm really impressed.

I don't think there is a 'best Insurance', but there is certainly a worst & it's already been mentioned.....E&L. Additionally read all the small print because E&L have another insurance company, I can't remember the name but steep clear of them as well.

KBIS, SEIB, Petplan, NFU, Shearwater are all good insurers & others as well buty stay away from the E&L group. :(
