Best insurance company for older dog??

Hi all

I'm hoping someone can recommend me a good insurance company for my whippet bitch. She's just turned 10 years old and is currently insured with Animal Friends. She had a bout of pancreatitis and they tried to wriggle out of paying claiming it was a pre-existing condition as she'd seen a vet about 2 years prior for a stomach upset. My vets also won't deal with them directly.

With their poor service in mind and the stress they caused when trying to claim I am not too keen on the idea of renewing with them this year and wondered if anyone can recommend another company - I know she'll obviously be excluded for her previous condition but she's not getting any younger and I'd like to think that my insurance would cover for anything else should she get poorly again and not have the added worry of them trying to avoid paying out. I have had quotes from Petplan and Morethan already.

Pets at Home Insurance paid out for Gem no problem when the vet discovered a heart murmur during routine health check and started Gem on meds even though we'd only just changed her over to their insurance.

Are there any more suggestions? My dog will be 9 this year and her monthly premium has shot up by £10 a month despite not claiming for the last 5 years (and even when I did claim it was for sewing her foot back together, not a disease).
Is this increase normal for her age or are all insurances going up a lot this year?
