Best insurers for horses 15 +

My horses insurance is up for renewal in september and I'm starting to ring around to make sure I have the best cover for them. One horse is 15 going on 16 and the other is 16 going on 17. Both are in full work and compete regulary. I know some horses class old horses as anything over 15 and start cutting down the covere available. Neither of my horses have ever *touch wood* had any sort of insurance claim and both *touch wood* fit and healthy.

What sort of restrictions do they put on insurance for the older horses? Who would you recommend?

Petplan cover accident and illness up to 25 now if you join before horse is 19.

I have an older horse too...and given all the exclusions, and limits...I think I will stop insuring her with a company and start putting money aside into a savings account...every month...to build up.
