Hey :) I want to put my wee mare on a joint supplement just to reduce the risk of any joint problems later in life. Iv been researching some and have become rather confused by all the different brands and ingredients etc  I was originally thinking Cortaflex Powder might be the best bet, but looking through the ingredients it doesnt have glucosamine. And after seeing somewere that thats one of the main ingredients in a good joint supp im unsure as to weather to get it!! What does everyone find the best brand?

Thanks :D

I just use equine america glucosamine for my young horse- it's £15 and lasts a good month. When he is older I will use a more specialised joint supplement but I don't think he needs it atm :)

I use Premierflex HA as a general joint supplement for my 15 yo gelding, because he has had a problem with his back in the past and seems to benefit from it. I wouldn't feed one routinely or as a preventative though.

I used Cortaflex for mine.

I tried cheapper ones for a while but cotraflex seemed to be the only one that seem to have an effect on mine.

Have also heard the glucosamine from equine america is good and cheaper to feed but i never got round to trying it on mine.

Hope that helps :)
