Any recommendations for jumping boots? I've been using clarendons or bandages, but think he'd be more careful in some open fronted tendon boots?

Also, he's not keen on the hind clarendons, think he might be better with some (smaller) fetlock boots?

Can anyone recommend any particular brand or boots?

Thanks!

I use devoucoux fetlock boots and they also sell tendon sheaths which I pop under a bandage for shows. But at home he does everything with nowt on his legs- bad mother I know but I believe it gies them a better awareness of where they are putting their feet!

Do you want for SJ or XC?

SJ i like the eskadron ones with flexi tops, gd protection fit well and easy to keep tidy! I dont like to use hind boots jumping unless they are specifically needed.

TBH the fetlock boots are probably more for show (Ebay bargain!!)

I'm just use regular brushing boots, but if he was clumsy I would use open fronted tendon boots.

Never use fetlock boots due to the fact that the one time I did, I buried the poor horse into the bottom of a fence, and in her effort to get over, she snapped so quick, she sliced her leg open and ended up with stitches. If I'd had my normal brushing boots on, it wouldn't have happened.

Sunday vet bill, loss of next class entry and horsey off for 10 days, so, no Fetlock boots for me

Thanks everyone, dont think Ill bother with the hinds then. Never used to jump in boots until my instructor had a 'freakout'!!

Will go scrabbling round derby house and have a look at the open fronted tendon boots (if they have any that are not pink!) for comps (SJ) and keep the clarendons for xc.

Thanks again!
