Best leg protection for travelling?

I am taking my welsh to more shows this year and was wondering what you all thought was the best protection boots or bandages want them for the protection and also to keeps legs clean when waiting for his showing classes as white hind legs aren't the best thing to have with nervous 4 year old lol so am i best off with bandages or boots and then bandages when we get there?
