I'm trying to find the best lighting solution for an outdoor Manège that measures 40x20m, I was thinking of maybe 8x 30W 12v LED floodlights (approx 3000lm) for a cost of £200, then wiring them to a leisure battery or generator, or perhaps separate lithium batteries for each pair to avoid the near for any wiring. The lights would be on metal rods so they can be easily put up and taken down if needed. If the light was spread over the arena evenly which I realise isn't possible in the real world, that would be an illuminance of 30lx, would this be acceptable for flatwork?
Unfortunately at this time of year the outdoor arena has very limited usability because of the dark, but the indoor is often used quite late because of lessons, so we need to find a lighting solution.
