I have a little Welsh X who suffers at the hands of midges every year, but thanks to the warm and dry weather we've had early on in the season, he's already trying to itch his tail and mane out.
He has a very good premier equine fly rug, but he is a really hot blooded little thing and I think it's making him too hot which is contributing to the itching. He is in during the day and only turned out at night, so he's missing the heat of the day, but I still think he could do with something a little lighter.
Can anyone recommend a decent, but very lightweight fly rug that has shoulder gussets?

One of mine sweats for Britain in the summer and last year I bought the Zebra rugs from Kramer. They are made by Thermo Master, are extremely lightweight, have shoulder gussets and come without necks and just cross surcingles or they do a full neck version with a tummy flap rather than the surcingles. I use the no neck version and he didn’t sweat up once whereas in the Weatherbeeta he had the previous summer he was dripping within minutes. They wash and dry quickly and are reasonably priced. Size wise they are true to size, mine are both in 6ft and they fit perfectly without pulling back on the shoulders.
