I stupidly lent our lorry to someone at the yard to practise loading their horse. They have trashed the ramp (broken wooden cross struts) without even telling me about it (just threw the broken struts in the back of the lorry). They are also being very slow (it's been weeks now) to do anything about it after I discovered the damage. Note to self, NEVER lend the lorry out again...

Anyway, we thought we might replace the ramp covering (it's currenly carpet). Does anyone have any recommendations for a lightweight surface which we could put on the ramp? Names of products/suppliers would be even better. Thanks !

I would use either of the conventional materials which are industrial grade coconut matting or rubber. They are available from either horsebox manufactuers or the people who supply them. (See Horse and Hounds Magazine as they advertise in it). They weigh about the same. Also check the wood and aluminium on the ramp and replace if necessary.

Thanks guys. My YO has some which looks likes astroturf on her ramp. Absolute b@stard to clean but amazingly grippy. No idea what it's called though.
