Merlin has a new Amigo 600d no fill turnout.... It doesnt seem to leak, but, when it is wet, it is all clammy on the inside as if it has leaked

Seems to make him cold as well....

So, if I were to get him a different one, what should I get??

He has a rambo duo, so dont need anything above 100g.... but thought it would be nice for him not to be wet, clammy or cold

Saxon 600 Light!

Bought two for my girls at the start of year and they are fab! Would really recommend them. Great fit - both my girls are different shapes but neither rug moves or rubs. They have a light fill so are perfect and I noticed the other day that you could get them for under £30 now!

I have Bucas Smartex rain rugs- they are great as if the weather is warm but raining they stay really dry. They fit most horses very well too and last for years.

they also make a sunshower rug too that has no lining.

I have two, a Masta and an Aerborn. I always go for the Aerborn, cost me £20 at the Aerborn Sale!! Its long enough, light, with no fill, but a mesh liner so they don't get clammy. About 6 horses on the yard have them.

I was going to sell the Masta but then thought it might do my foal for a while she she is bigger.

This suprises me - yes they are cheap, but I have 2 for my horses, and I find them absolutely useless! They fit ok (although my 15.2 looks like she's wearing a miniskirt!) but in terms of waterproof-ness(!) - well I might as well not borther, the slightest bit of rain and they are soaked inside!

Either way it doesnt feel nice, and I end up putting a Duo liner in it, which defeats the object really!!!

Masta every time - just bought a new one after 8 years of faithful service from the last one.

Tried the amigo first as it was a bit cheaper but was far too narrow across the chest for my MW and not shoulder vents.

We also have a Holmstead one called the Gazelle which is brilliant on lighter framed horse - 8 yo and like new but not wide enough in chest for my lad - not sure if they make them now either
