I've got quite a chunky little cob, big shoulders and chest etc and was wondering what low fill rugs people use on theirs? He's a 5'6 so have issues finding them small enough. I'd like about 50g fill, just to pop on him when it's raining as he'll be out 24/7 this winter (fingers crossed)! Thanks :)

Tempest light another recommendation. Also found the amigo to fit him well. He's very deep in the chest and neck with large shoulders. Only two rugs that don't strangle him!!

Yup, Shires and Amigos for my boy too. Funnily enough, I took a picture of him the other day so someone could see the Shires rug fit wise:

I have a Shires tempest 100g for my girl who is supposed to be Irish cob but is more like welsh d build. I have just got a Swish 1200d 50g which is brilliant quality. My yard owner has an Amigo 50g for her boy which is good quality but only 600d.

I have a 40g FalPro with a detachable neck, it belonged to my ISH mare but is a perfect fit for my cob of possibly Welsh or Irish extraction

Do the Shires rugs have 1200 denier? He'll have it on if it rains solid for a few hours 'cause he's a wuss and hates rain but I don't want to come back to a soaked pony :)

Shires rugs are 600d however my 100g is waterproof but I have given up with no fills as find they are only shower proof!
