I have the amigo XL for a very big shouldered, actually big all over ? heavyweight traditional cob. They are also very lightweight compared to the shires fly rug for other pony and the neck is detachable and very roomy.

Big Horse Shop was the only one that worked for me. Ruggles, which often gets recommended, wouldn't even fasten and is now being worn by a dainty Arab. Maxima and Amigo XL would fasten but were still tight over the shoulder. (I've kept the Amigo XL as an emergency back-up, because it was a cheap second-hand one.) Big Horse Shop is positively roomy, and I could actually do with going down a size.

Shires is the only common brand I've found that fits a large shoulder and wide chest. Other than that Big Horse Shop.

Premier Equine fly rugs are a good fit. My mare has a large shoulder and broad chest which narrows up towards the wither and I was battling to find something that didn't slip back and then rub - this brand works for her.
