best make of shavings

Currently- The cheapest ones!
I get mine from the local *tack/feed shop* it's just there own brand really.
I prefer the small ones but the large ones are far better when it's windy- shaves hundreds of tiny shavings flying everywhere.
As long as they are not dusty, they do me and neddy boy fine! :D
 
I find a core of bog standard countrywide shavings with bedmax on top is the best combo. Bedmax doesn't stick to things or blow about so I like it on the top but the tiny shavings are more absorbent.
 
I use 'Natural Flake', I have noticed that the bales are not as big as they used to be but they are of similar size to most others on the market now. I buy them by the pallet & have them delivered. I have storage space & it saves re-ordering them too often.

I don't use Countrywide as on their website Bedmax is £7.99 & their other shavings are £8.49 per bale. I feel this is expensive as I get mine for under £7.00 delivered.
 
My take on it is try different makes see how long a bale lasts, personaly i like the heavy fine types as I only use a small amount on rubber mats taking out the wet daily I find if its bigger flakes it disperses and you end up with a lot of slightly wet stuff which when removed daily uses quite a lot more for replacement.....
