Ive got the Sportabrac ones and only used them a few times imo they made things worse!! they really made her legs sweaty and horrible, i gave up with them.
I wouldnt use neoprene ones as they hold the wet. might try the equilibriums which are breathable.
we use the equilibrium hardy chaps to prevent knocks (not frank
daft blonde mare who forgets where her feet are!) and quality is excellent and they have lasted ages. Sportabac and derby house equivalent the neoprene disintegrated very quickly.
I have 3 sorts , sportabac, love them but they are not very tough.Equilibrum, ok but hate putting them on. Westroppe, love them , very hardy and easy to put on.
I use kerratex powder underneath and wash every night and dry on the radiator.
This is the first year that I haven't had to use them as they are all still clear of mudfever but there is still plenty of winter left to get it! I don't bother unless they get mudfever as hate doing them
Its as a preventative really, he hasn't got mf but will Im sure soon as he has thick feather that is impossible to dry after getting muddy and or wet. I was reading it was actually better to clip and keep legs dry, so was going to do just that *thoughts?*
