My fully lined wooden stables have always been given a coat of 'creosote' which of course isn't the same as it used to be. I used the dark for the bottoms and light for the tops, has been ok over the years.
Now though as time passes I find that the muddy marks up the walls, etc etc are looking tired, the linings themselves are good as new so don't wish to remove and replace.
I have the notion to do them black at the bottom and white on top, but whatever I use on the tops has to be good enough to cover the light coloured creosote. They didn't get done this autumn so it isn't too much to cover, I have been recommended a make called Albany by a friend who has used it on her new yard, but although I can source it locally I'm unfamiliar with it.
Has anyone ever done this, did it work ok, and just as important, what make would you recommend please?
I will spend a bit more to get the right stuff, within reason.
Thank you.
