Iv recently got a new horse, and he has been off work some time, so is out of shape. So I dont want to get a new saddle, or have the saddle fitter, when realistically after a few weeks of work he is going to be a totally differant shape

So Im looking for something cheap as poss (250 absolute max) to go on with for now, that I could part Ex towards a new saddle when he's pretty much fit

I would like a jumping saddle with big knee, and preff thigh blocks too

so does anyone know of anything, or what sites are there that have nice big sections for 2nd hand saddlery, Im a bit worried about getting something like this off ebay, but even still have had a look and I didnt see anything of interest xx

oooh, forgot to say, local saddlers dont have anything vaugley fitting that description in 2nd hand

and im looking for a 17 / 17.5 medium or medium to wide if you know of anything xx

Well, my saddler told me exactly what to look for (didn't have a 2nd hand saddle of the type he recommended) - and I bought it off Ebay.

Saddler then came out and fitted it to the horse

I went to Patrick Wilkinson's in Beverley and got my 2nd saddle for £350, but he has tonnes to go at. I took my horse to him, so no charge for fitting, etc.
R&R, near Selby/Goole do a few second hand ones, but the also have their own range of new saddles now, which are also really cheap.

the seond hand saddles at R&R are way over priced!
