I have been trying to sell my pony for a couple of months now and not had much joy:confused: I was just wondering, which website/place to advertise people would recommend to put him on? I am not bothered about the cost. Thankyou:)

In all honesty, Facebook actually seems to be a good place to advertise at the moment (just be prepared to weed out the timewasters). Ive sold a couple through there & know others who have as well. Ive also advertised my cob for loan on websites as well as FB, the only interest ive had has been from FB, ive got 4 people coming to see him.

Thankyou. Just on your facebook? Or should I put him on particular pages? Which ones do you recommmend?
Good luck:)

There are loads of horsey groups on there, there are ones that generally cover the whole of the UK & ones which are more geared towards your local areas.

Just a couple to get you started, but you could post on your own FB & ask for links to different groups etc & you should find some more that are local to you then.

I recommend Horsequest and HorseRadar. Both are highly recommended by top professionals and show producers. If I had to pick between the two it would be horsequest as they have had possitive feedback from sellers. Most new ones on the website go quickly!

I haven't sold a horse, but when I was horse hunting I checked horsequest daily, it's a really well laid out & easy to use site and seems to be very successful. Horsemart is very popular too, and where I found my newest - however I think it's easier for an advert to get 'lost' on there as there are so many uploads. Definitely worth trying facebook horsey groups... what area are you in? I'll have a bit more of a think x

I found PC & horsequest pretty useless tbh as they dropped down too quick & the pc one hasn't a decent search tool.

The site where mine got the most views was Horsedeals but I sold him off Horsemart. However, it did take almost a year to sell him (being advertised on & off) & I had to drop his price a lot. That was for an established jumping pony. The market is dire. You can only keep trying!

Good luck xx

If he has any issues, try www.projecthorses.co.uk - it has a good hit rate, and a lot sell through there.

Personally when selling horses, for other sites, I've found best results through Horsemart in the past, not used it for a while though. Adhorse seems to not get huge numbers of replies, but the few it does give seem quite good, and it's fairly cheap to advertise. There's also a local website that seems to do well. Facebook hasn't given me any results - I think the problem there is that any page / group which is busy enough to bring people likely to reply also means that the advert drops down the page, and it's not very search / user friendly either.
