My daughter has far too many horses - five at the last count! She's recently graduated and will (hopefully) soon be out in the big wide world earning money.......but she currently has four horses in our rented yard plus one out on loan (which is coming back to us imminently) and we desperately need sharers for three of them. Two are adorable but we have a quirky 17.1hh TB that needs an experienced rider and we would be prepared to put him out on loan as he is absolutely obsessed with our TB mare and we think he'd be better off away from her, but we don't want to sell him. Now, my question is......where's the best place to advertise? We've printed some ads for the local feed shops and tack shop but are there any worthwhile sites online? Perhaps you've got some ideas! :D

I am also looking for the Best place to advertise. But I was sad when i saw nobody pay attention. Can you please email me when you get a nice reply or advice. Thank you so much. Have a blessed day!

Hmm a tricky one - most on line sites have the facility for 'loan' horses, but think 'sharers' are sourced more through word of mouth and local ad's.

Are you a member of a RC or hunt as they may have a 'round robin' email you could send out an advert on?

Good luck x

Websites aren't often the best places to find a sharer (word of mouth much better), but try Horsemart, PC website, Equine Ads, local Hunt/PC/RC websites are often good too if you're involved.

If you're on Facebook there are often local groups (I know my local one has thousands of members and is v active and useful) and you can advertise on there and hopefully get a good response.

But get the word out everywhere- local riding establishments, livery yards, tack shops, when you're at shows let people know, if you're close to a Uni might be worth contacting their riding club.

Are there any local university riding clubs you could email your ad to? My uni had a riding club and there were loads of decent riders with no money for their own horses (they'd usually sold theirs before going to uni)! I had more horses on offer for me to ride at uni than I could keep up with! Might be worth a try!!! x

Hcm88, no we're not riding club members and I am actually a local hunt rep but I don't really want them going to hunting homes. Don't mind them hunting occasionally but not regularly. Problem is, around here, there's so much money (I haven't got any!:() most horse owners keep their horses at home and there's no shortage of dosh to buy good horses. Think I'm going to have problems finding sharers in this area........:(

Equine adverts is popular for loans/shares, when I was searching & put a wanted ad up I got the most responses from there. I see loads of shares/loans on facebook pages too so might be worth trying that.
Maybe project horses for the quirky one as I've seen similar horses on there for loan?
There is a website called horsetoloan.com for loans & shares - BUT - be aware that if you put an ad on there it will never come off again! I put an advert on there too early last year, and after endless emails to them they still haven't taken it down and i'm still getting lots of responses even now. It's popular but you may end up getting responses for the rest of your life! ;)

Hcm88, it's very difficult around here - very rural and affluent - no-one needs to share! I might try the PC website (daughter was a very active member in her schooldays!). I need to attract people outside the immediate area, which is why I thought there might be a website someone could recommend. There are minimal livery yards (like I said in an earlier post, most people keep their horses at home) and no riding schools. Think I'm onto a loser......all my fault for buying my daughter so many horses!

i am looking for a share at the moment and the best sites i have found are equine adverts and preloved. horse shares uk may also be worth a try. I think you will be too far from me, but whereabouts in hertfordshire are you?
