Does anyone know where the best place to buy a field shelter would be (ideally looking for something about 24 x 30) or do they come in standard sizes? Are there any decent suppliers on Ebay??
I don't need them to instal it. Maybe stupid question but do the field shelters come with a floor? Or will they go directly onto the hardstanding?

Im new at all this!

Thanks all in advance

That should have said looking for 24 x 15, i can't add up! Basically hes now in a 12 x 15 stable and I'd like it to be the size of two of those if possible, hopefully that makes sense!

And no idea why title says pictures, I obviously haven't learnt to use this new look set up!

They come in standard sizes usually 12x12, 18x12,24x12. They don't have floors as in theory they are mobile and also would rot. You can lay your own concrete or hardcore base but if you do you require planning permission. You could use rubber mats tho without a problem. Don't know about eBay suppliers, they may be ok for one you aren't likely to have to move (which you may not plan to but planning officer or neighbour moans might make it happen), if you do buy on eBay check for the spec, some of them have very flimsy framing timbers etc.

Good firms could build one to your measurement but likely to be cheaper to go with one of the standard sizes above if you can.

I have a lovely one from a local East Midlands company - PM me if you in that area and I'll let you know their name. Ours was 24 x 12 split into 2 with a half heigt partition and gates on the front (so I could use it as 2 stables)on metal skids so it didn't rot. It was £3500 ish.

Im down south so not near you but thanks for this info anyway, gives me an idea of cost. Thank you

Not sure where you are but if you look on nfed.co.uk you will see Mike Corcoran Timber Buildings - we got our 24x12 from him - he supplies you all the bolts, fixings etc and you collect it and put it up (will fit in double trailer) or he knows someone who can put it up for you. Ours was a pent roof (sloping rather than pointed) and this kept the cost right down, would recommend him.

Meant to say.. he is very very reasonable £775 for 24 x 12 field shelter - if using as a stable you will need to put in kick boards and gates etc - no floor but we put down membrane then levelled hardcore on it then built shelter on sleepers so no chance of it moving.
