I am after ideas of where to find a sharer for my boy, he is generally easy but will take the pee out of novices, he has been doing dressage all summer, unaff and bd only at prelim but no transport now until next year (fingers crossed) can jump but green. He is ten miles from northampton at a lovely yard.
Do shares work? What do I need to consider (never shared before) and where do I find a sharer?

Which direction from Northampton are you? If MK area put up an ad in Horseatack and RB equestrian, if further North then you local ones up there. Also try preloved, it's free and lots of people advertise on there.

Also SianEliza on here is Northants and was looking for a share at one point, might be worth a PM?

Think shares can work very well if you find the right person, you have to accept that they may have their own way of doing things but as long as your horse is well looked after then that is what counts.

Good luck:)

I'm not in your area, but I put an advert on the Horse Hunter website ages ago. I'm still getting enquiries now and I successfully found a lovely sharer. My boy is similar, not a novice ride. I was honest in my ad and got lots of positive interest.

Are you looking for a sharer because you want/need a financial contribution or because he needs more work/you need help with stable duties?

Also worth putting an adv on preloved.

All the reasons above, he is not getting enough exercise for definite, which then means he is getting a little silly when worked, which isn't fair on him. Also could do with financial contribution at the moment.

You almost had a potential sharer then until I got to the last bit.:(
Would it help that I have this?

That is lovely, did follow your threads on making it but couldnt post as so green with envy! If you saw the fight to load you wouldnt offer the box. Are you looking for something to ride locally then?

Juno, cheeky idea of mine but would you be interested in helping ride until I found a sharer? Don't know if that would work for you? Also don't know what sort of horse you are looking for, but he is a 16.1 tb. Pm if interested, only prob would be I cant afford to pay someone to ride him.
