Okay so as some of you know that my little boy has gone to a new home now due to my finances. But it's already killing me not getting up at daft times to bring him in. Or him throwing in a buck to try and scare me.

It's only been a few days!! But I was wondering where to look for a horse to ride. I don't mind any projects as consider myself a decent rider. So where do I start?

I'd maybe put an ad on preloved or some other site like that? I've seen a couple on there for this kind of thing. Or maybe put an ad up in tack shop/at yards etc. hope you find something soon, I know it can be hard when you can't have your horsey fix for however long!

I've got the opposite problem! Im looking for someone to ride and spend time with my girl and can't find anyone :( I don't want any money, just someone with time and perhaps the inclination to fill the odd wheelbarrow out poo picking....

I'm sure you'll find something to ride, especially now its winter and sharers are harder to find. Bet someone will snap your hand off, I would!

I had the same thing, I loaned out my horse as he was only up to hacking, and felt really weird without my horsey fix, was looking for a new challenge, I looked on preloved and I got a bargain, and definitely a challenge!

Then I started riding a horse that I was trick training for someone, then my loan horse came back, so I've got from none to three in three months.

Working with other people's horses is like methadone for a junkie, it takes the edge off, but doesn't quite hit the spot...

If you're anywhere near gatwick and are capable of riding a slightly quirky mare then I may have a solution. Pm me if you want more details.

I can recommend Preloved...I placed an ad offering my services to help out around the yard and i had 5 replies within 24hrs.

Just be honest with your experience and what you want from your sharer and you'll get offers.

I didn't want to ride but offered myself as a groom, even then i had one lady that said i could ride hers if i wanted (I would squish anything less than a shire!!) but do watch out for people looking for a kid sitter...unless you don't mind kids?!!?

ive tried preloved/freeads/adtrader/FB pages....... you name it i think ive tried it, i get lots of My daughter would love to help type messages because mine is 11h welshie. they all ignore the fact its a starting from scratch again with him.

im offering what i thought was a good deal too, no costs, no chores, long term share with them able to take him out to shows ect once he gets more confident & trustworthy. yard has facilitys ect too... now given to think he is never gonig to be ridden again & will just have to be a driving pony.
