So following on from my previous post about purchasing second hand saddles, I am curious to know the best place/way to sell second hand saddles?

It is clear that both my saddles are now not suitable. One is far too narrow and has never been used on her (from an old horse), the other is now becoming too narrow and while it is not a terrible fit- it would not allow her to continue to build up muscle any further without causing discomfort. As horse is on loan, loan home have other saddles that fit her that they are using- which tides her over for a few months, except they have other horses, so can't make them an offer on their saddles!

So I have two useless saddles sitting there. I know most people advertise on facebook- but I also notice that saddles don't tend to sell so well. Anywhere else I can advertise them? Is it worth maybe asking saddler who comes out to sell them for me, as they will be helping to fit a new saddle anyway once she is back?

We have a saddler near us that sells on second hand saddles for people and they always offer a good deal. You could also try putting ads on preloved and ebay etc :)

Thanks both- will take a look! Hopefully I can shift them fairly quick as I will then have the money for when horse comes back for a new one!

The Facebook page is good but because so any people use it, mine is disappearing way down the list after just a couple of hours. It's also on preloved.

I'm going to advertise mine in all the local show centres, as it's an event saddle so hopefully someone will see it there! Good luck and let is know if you find any good sites.

Ive sold two very easily on Preloved, no worrying about posting them off and I personally offer a full refund if the saddle isn't suitable and returned in the same condition within 48 hours which I think has helped greatly

Yes, Preloved is nice & easy coz you tend to get local people more.

Facebook is OK'ish, I've not sold a saddle on there though and think that people are almost wanting you to give your saddles away for nowt!; plus you need to be aware of a scammer who goes by various aliases; you don't have to "lurk" very long on the FB page for someone to raise a warning about her. Beware of anyone who tries to tempt you away from PayPal, either bank transfer and/or encouraging you to use the "gift" option on PayPal.

Also dunno about Gumtree?? I've never used it.

Also there's Horsemart??? I've got two saddles on there at the mo so shall see if they sell.
