As soon as we've got the go ahead from the insurance, vet is going to refer T for scintigraphy, as she's now lame on all 4 legs.
We've drawn a blank on her off fore, which has improved slightly, xrays (2 weeks ago) showed arthritis in her off hind. She went lame on her near hind last thursday, which looks to be arthritis too but haven't xrayed yet, and yesterday she went lame on her near fore

I'm going to chase the insurance on friday, but would appreciate some thoughts on where to send her please!

I need her to go somewhere where they're going to take a fluffy 2yo mini seriously

She's not exactly your average equine clinic patient!

I've not seen how they treat minis at Cambridge Vet School, but they've certainly taken seriously all sorts of shaggy little ponies when I've been there. I should *think* a bone scan would be much the same one place as another. It's what their suggestions are afterwards that might vary, bearing in mind her size etc. I would hope all vets would be professional! Will be keeping everything crossed for you xx

Poor little pet! I hope they find out what is wrong.

I would imagine that all vets and vet nurses, especially in referral practices, will be experienced in handling all kinds of horses, including difficult ones, and would treat her firmly but fairly.

As a general tip, ring around, you will find that prices vary greatly (I know the insurance is paying but they usually have a ceiling on what they are willing to pay and saving money now may mean more money in the furture for other treatments). I got a six hundred pound difference between Leahurst and Bourton Vale (BV cheaper). Also make sure the quote includes everything, i.e. livery, VAT.

Good luck!
