Best pressure halter?

I'm thinking of getting a pressure halter for my youngster. She is generally very well behaved, but just a tiny bit heavier in the ordinary head collar than I'd like. I've never had a pressure halter before though and there seem to be an array of them available - any pointers for good ones that release any pressure instantly? Happy to have other suggestions too!

I got a Be Nice halter for my rising 3 year old. Been using it for a year or so. It helped massively, he had more respect but also I believe he was better behaved because I felt in control, therefore more confident and relaxed. Now I just use it either as a reminder or if it's one of those days when he gets out of bed with 'that' glint in his eyes!

I've got a Dually. They are expensive, but I bought mine second hand and it still looks like new, so they are good quality. Mine doesnt really need it anymore so its used on the normal headcollar ring, but its useful to have other options in case he needs a reminder :)

Any tool is only as good as its user. For what its worth I have a dually because for me it releases correctly and the be nice doesn't. But there is almost certainly an element of what fits the horse better and how it is used. And what you are used to! I do also use the very soft knotted natural horsemanship headcollars - not the stiff harsh ones. But again it comes down to correct pressure / release use. I've seen the knotted headcollars massively misused - far more so than either the dually or the be nice.

Edited to add.... the duallys will stick if you don't keep them clean. I stick ours in the washing machine every so often....

Thanks all - think I'm leaning towards the dually at the moment - I like that it can be a normal headcollar too and presumably could be used with two ropes to give immediate flexibility in training.

I really like the Dually. I used to use it a lot to ride in as well actually. When I (not pony) was learning to jump ditches I found it great because if I got a little bit left behind (because it's a different "shape" jump going across rather than over an obstacle) it was great because I never caught his mouth, although he had a very light mouth.

Our first pony was very naughty to lead and bolted when children lead him! And the Dually was the difference between my sister and I having a pony we could look after by ourself vs needing Mum there every time

Dually. I used to use mine for loading but for the past dozen times he'd gone straight in, in a normal headcollar. I also use it for lunging, and sometimes hacking and jumping on occasion. This is us riding in the dually during a bute trial http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...85BF68C37F384230499B85BF68C37F38423&FORM=VIRE

He has always been inconsistent in his contact in a bridle so I wanted to see how he went in a dually and was very impressed!

It seems like it was the answer to my loading prayers, when he stopped loading in about 2011 after 7.5 years of just walking straight in to the trailer.
