Best probiotics after antibiotics or during?

I mentioned a couple of days ago my mare had a swollen shin, more like a stab from a thorn that kind of swelling. The vet has put her on Trimediazine sachets (penstrip she hates getting injected)(anyone also have a good way to get this into a FUSSY eater). So was wandering if i should put her on a probiotic aswell as its winter now and shes a wimpy type of mare?

A really good probiotic is Pink Powder or a cheap alternative is natural bio yougart. A fail safe way to get trimedazine into your horse is get 2, 20ml syringes cut all the end off, all of it not just the bit you attatch the needle too. Empty Trimedazine into a small bowl and mix to a paste with water and a tablespoon of strawberry jam, dont make it too runny though, then put it into the two syringes and squirt it down her throat it works every time. I buy 1.5kg for £29 & you only give 4g a day so lasts forever! You can put in feed (sweet tasting)or into water but you ave to change the water every 12hrs.
