How what do you put on the horses quarters to make the quarter marks show up more? do you wet the quarter with coat shine first or water? or baby oil? and then resprey it afterwards? please help because it does not stay on her quartters as shes got such short hair.

This is what i have done so far and i find they last. . .

wet the whole hindquarters with a wet dandy brush not a sponge you don't want that much water.
brush the hair from right to left (towards the tail) and do the opposite on the other side.
then use a comb or template to make your quarter-marks and leave to dry.
my horse has a fine coat too but i find doing this they last travelling to the show and back I've even turned him out and they've still been there the next day (naughty mummy i know !)

Replied in NL HH. Try Shockwaves super-hold hairspray or the gel that guys use for spiky hairstyles. Works a treat but I'd experiment a bit before the show to find out what looks/works best x
