Best products for a black coat

I have 4 horses - 3 greys and a black. I am toying with the idea of taking my jet black girl to a show. I am expert at getting greys clean and sparkly but what are the secrets fo getting a black coat to look fab? She does have slight fading of the mane and tail but I am not going to keep her in just to stop her coat bleaching.

we bought the bartell polishing mitt it is made from sheepskin and really glosses there coat

You can still give her a handful of chaff and stick some oil in it. We have show horses, and nothing brings their coats up like a drop of oil.

We very, very rarely wash, let alone shampoo a coat. We just let good feeding and the oil do the work.
 
Ive recently bought the Wahl deep black shampoo but also I feed Seaweed supplement as it is supposed to enhance and keep the colour of the coat from bleaching by the sun.

I like 'Show and Shine' ( by Carl, Day etc I think!)
I tend to wash with tea tree oil. general shampoo 1st, just to get rid of grease, scurff, dirt etc. Then use a better shampoo 2nd, with conditioner on tail.
Once dry, I use a sheepskin mitt to polish which brings out a good shine.
Also good is the 'hot towel' method. Us a flannel in hot water,then squeeze excess water out and wipe over coat to get surface dust off. OR a small towel/ flannel with baby oil for knees, hocks, muzzle, round eyes etc-beware though dust is attracted to baby oil, so make sure you have cloth available for last minute wipe before entering ring.
With a dark bay, black-oil in feed-soya oil is good as well-so they shine from the inside out!
 
I've got 2 black ones and must admit oats are the best thing I've found for coat shine and condition but as yours is in a field if you have to bath I'd say go for the black pearl shampoo, always had fab results with mine.
 
Someone at Show camp had the most amazing black cob - they feed black sunflower seeds for the coat - I feed them for the feet, but her coat looks amazing!
 
Perhaps I should have given more detail!

She's a 9hh standard 23 year old Shetland called Merrie Molinia of Netherly, apparently she has done very well in the show ring (not surprised seeing her trot). Her weight is looking good but her coat is still a little teddy bear like. She is jet black apart from a white star and only her VERY thick mane and tail have very slight bleaching.

Feeding her oils etc really isn't an option - its taken me all winter and spring to get her weight in order (got her last August).

I wish I knew how to post photo's.....
 
My black Shetlands are black and shiny after a bath with NAF Tea Tree Shampoo, you'll probably find that her coat will be shiny naturally after a bath.
