Best quality sheepskin?

My bartl pad is ok. Would rather have le mieux though.

Am going to buy a nice brown one when I have some money as I feel a bit chavy having cream on a bay horse!!

good to hear all the positive le meuix (sp?) reports as bought a brown one at YHL, must say my roma one still looks great and is nice and thick, but was careful to cover it in human hair conditioner and wash on a cool 15 deg delicates wash!

Another vote for Le Mieux from me as well. I use their girth sleeves and half pads. They come up like new every time they are washed.

I have a Le Mieux and it is lovely, but my absolute favourite to the point where I could sit and stroke it for hours (is that wrong???) is my Mattes Platinum one. Oh, it is a thing of beauty.

I bought a lovely sheepskin numnah from The Horse's Health at YHL. The chap running the stand was very helpful and advised rubbing ordinary conditioner into the sheepskin side before washing it. Haven't tried it yet, but nice tip, I thought!

They know their sheepskin!

Actually, I have a medium black on black that is brand new, but slightly too small, so if anyone wants to buy it or swap it, please pm me...

I think brands like LeMiuex can make great pads, but Mattes is the most consistenly and reliably high quality from what I have seen out on my "rounds" - I have seen issues with all other brands.

I have a brown with mink sheepskin Le Mieux saddle cloth, love the fact that the sheepskin is only on the front *rolled* bit and not underneath the pad. I love the look of it and its great i can have the look without compromising the fit of the saddle :)
I want a nice brown on brown WH one next.

I'm a bit of a sheepskin connaseiur!

IMHO the best you can get is Mattes Platinum sheepskin. It is divine! I would have it all if I could afford it!

Then it is Le Mieux. Their stuff is nice, but not a patch on the mattes platinum IMHO.

I have a bartl saddlepad. And whilst the sheepskin is not as "luxury" feeling, it is certainly the most hardwearing (better than le mieux) and is my day-to-day dead sheep :D

Acavallo have a very good quality sheep on them too. Their products are very innovative too (I esp like their gel pad with sheep on).
