Our main hacking route is through woods which are heaving with flies at the moment :(
This afternoon we actually got off and walked for a bit so we could swipe them off as we went as poor horses were so bothered by them.
not big horseflies, those little ones bigger than midges that go underbelly and you often get horses blood on you when you squish them
Had used pink naf which obv did naf all today!
Just need something really effective for at least an hour.

Power phaser or coopers. Both seem to work well on those nasty teeny flies but are pretty strong so it's a good idea to do a patch test first.

Rub on yourself some Avon Skin So Soft dry body oil. Smells lovely to you and good for skin, yet flies and midges hate it. I use it to spray on mane and forelock of horse too. Works as a detangler really well on the tail too!

I also use coopers for the field every few weeks. Not too often.
