Hi i have a 2 year old who takes a 6ft rug but many at that size have a large neck and they slip back as she only has small shoulders. what rugs do you use?
im looking for turnout with or without neck

Horseware (Amigo, Rhino and Rambo) are great for youngsters.

I really like the Wugs but they don't do that style in the cheaper Amigo range. :( It can get quite expensive when you are constantly having to replace rugs due to the youngster growing so much!

Horseware do come up a bit smaller than some other makes, so do consider getting the next size up if your horse is growing fast.

Shires Tempest rugs have a good shape neck opening for youngsters and are reasonably priced. Otherwise the "wug" necks (high neck but not a full neck like a combo rug) are excellent. I look out for rambo/rhino wugs at tack sales for my youngsters.

i found the mark todd rugs good with all my horses when they were young, have a william funnell one on my yearling at the moment, they have the clips at the front and adjustable staps too, so you can really make the front neck area much shorter/narrower, then as they grow during the winter you can let out the adjustment, so that by the end of the winter the rugs fit :) i also have brought them off ebay, makes the cost a little easier to bear and i've sold my rugs from last year for almost as much as i paid - meaning the rugs cost me very little at all :D
