Best Saddle for an fat welshie ?

Little fattie is doing well on his weight loss plan, but still has half a horse to go - he needs a new saddle though as he has lost so much weight and then will need another when we get to our "ideal" weight - i dont want to spend a fortune on a saddle that we hopefully wont need again - but I do want him to be comfortable in his back when being ridden - any suggestions?

Thorowgood Pony Club saddles or Cob saddles are great for round natives, and not at all expensive, I find them comfortable to ride on too.

We use ideal saddles, they have lovely padding under the back and always seem to sit nicely.

Thorough good or wintec. The one I used on my welshie had an adjustable gullet as well so she kept the original saddle until she was at her ideal weight.

Edit, actually thinking back I kept the thoroughgood as it was a lovely little saddle!

Saddle Company all the way for me. Lovely saddles that can be adjusted from narrow to very wide by a saddle company fitter. Chances are with adjustments it will continue to fit through the weight loss.
