We bought one off a stand at HOYS, Falcon Horsebox Navigator, though I don't think the company is called Falcon.

You can put in the dimensions of your lorry and/or car/trailer/caravan. It does a lot of other things as well (not make tea though).

Haven't thoroughly tested it yet and it did send us on a bizarre route once but I think it may have been confused as had lent to someone to use abroad so it may have still thought it was out of the UK!

I have a cheapie one off ebay that covers europe as well. 7" screen, bluetooth capability, plays videos and apparantely is an all singing all dancing version. Only use it as a sat nav and it seems to do its job. Paid about £100 from a seller called "juggling frogs". Excellent communications and back up from them.

Glad you asked this. On my xmas list! But need to specify which one.

Most lorry sat navs I've looked at are pretty expensive, but equally my current sat nav (for car no option to add lorry) is hopeless & sends me down some truly unsuitable lanes, so I definitely need a new one but don't want to have a lot of money spent on something that doesnt do the job any better so opinions/reviews would be great!

Does anyone have one that allows you to input height weight etc, picks suitable routes, and doesnt break the bank? :D.
Ps sorry for the slight hijack OP!

I love my Garmin, think it was ~£130 from Halfords recently but that includes map updates for life and live traffic reports with re-routing. A few weeks back the severn bridge was closed because of an accident and it automatically re-routed me over the old severn bridge saving me several hours sat in a queue on a closed motorway. Worth every penny!

Yes it came with a holder but have to say it is not the best so purchased one of these for it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280918581346?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I don't have traffic stuff on my car sat nav so don't miss it on the truck one tbh. When you set it up you put in the dimensions of your vehicle, each time you start it up it confirms that is the vehicle you are in.

Tested mine when I first got it as my truck is an 18T and many of the lanes around my home are 7.5t limit. Used it in the car but told it I was in the truck, it was quite persistent in telling me I was in an area I should not be! Have used it abroad too and got on ok with it. For the money I am quite happy with it.

I've got a Pro Nav which I got from ebay, lets you input height, weight, length, width etc. They were selling lots of the 200 models reconditioned as a newer model was out.

Hasn't sent me down any unsuitable lanes and has two settings, fastest or keep to main roads. I do ignore it sometimes when there is a route that I know it OK that it would prefer me not to use.

Useful tip about the holder though, mine occasionally flings itself at my legs.
