Hi all.

I recently had to have minor surgery on my lady bits - and keen to get back in the saddle as soon as possible! Will probably be at least a fortnight till I can even try, but suspect I'll be needing some padding when I do!

Can anybody recommend a particularly soft and comfy seat saver? Would be for a 'suede' Wintec GP.

Thanks ☺️

I love the avacollo gel ones. I previously had Heather Moffat and sheepskin but prefer the gel one.
The gel out gives more security in the saddle as well

Thanks everyone - I'd heard good things about the acavallo ones re stickability but wasn't sure how well that equated to comfort and padding 'down below'... 🤔

Which feels softer to sit on? Might just have to strap a pillow on there! Think dressage saddle will be out for a while too... Horse has a promote which is clearly comfy for him, but doesn't look very soft and squishy...

The gel is really soft and squishy. You sink right in. I love mine, but I would say that there is a trick to dismounting! Try an always foam pad in your knickers too, they are very clever and comfy. I rode 6 weeks after having severe tearing and episiotomy. Was fine :)

I think the suede and heather Moffat ones are quite firm in comparason. The other option would be one of those old fashioned big fluffy sheepskin ones :)

Ive got a gel out one and its lovely to sit on. However, in your shoes Id probably be more worried about how my undies and jods might rub :( You said lady bits so Im thinking frontal area rather than your backside, would a sheepskin seat saver be a better option so you dont knock yourself against the pommel. I think Id also be rethinking about what I wore to ride in for the short term.

Heather Moffet or Block the Shock?

I've got a Heather Moffat one and whilst my friend who rides my boy loves riding in it, I really cannot stand the damn thing; even going for a 15mins trot round the block feels like riding on sandpaper on the lady bits ......... say no more (blushes in a ladylike fashion) - one reason why you can always buy one of the cussed things on e-bay!

I've got a sheepskin, usually keep that one for the winter months, now its getting colder will have to turn it out again!

I haven't tried an Acavello one, am hoping one comes up at an equine car boot somewhere! Have seen a gel-out one, don't think I'd like it TBH.

Anything repeat anything is preferable to a Heather Moffat one believe me.

I have the gel in one and it's really comfy, the gel is covered in a foam like material. See if you can borrow one to try before buying.

Thanks for the replies everyone - keeping my eyes peeled for anything coming up on ebay since I've got a little while to go. Will steer clear of the HM by the sounds of things!

Any brand recommendations for sheepskin ones?

For pure softness and comfort you can't beat sheepskin. I have had almost every seat saver going including the heather Moffatt (which actually hurt my lady bits). I also have the acavallo which I love but if I needed something purely for comfort then my sheepskin wins every time.

I have an avacello gel one, I like it but I get stuck sometimes when trying to get off!(haven't had it long)

I have both the gel out and gel in.

Gel out is great for stickability but I find it restrictive in rising trot. For comfort I prefer the gel in.
