Hello, tomorrow I'm gonna bath my filly cob if the weather holds up. She's piebald and most of her body is white. She's the filthiest pony I've ever met, she gets so grubby, she lays in mud/poo and because she shares a field with a mare and a gelding she's always squirting and with her being a cob her feathers are huge and are now full of brown you-know-what... and at the moment she looks brown and black rather than white and black. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get her white again? Thanks :)

I use Carr & Day & Martin Gallop Medicated shampoo, as my NF was very scurfy at the time and I thought it would help. I've had the bottle 3 years now, as he's only bathed a handful of times in a year.

Next time, I'll probably just go for bog standard baby shampoo from a supermarket.

Any baby ( no tears) shampoo, I paid through the nose for the horse shampoo for years, then suddenly had a eureka moment and haven't looked back! Superb idea about the purple shampoo, not tried it but I will. Also told once, ( not tried) that Daz washing powder/ liquid is the best thing for sparkly white tails....?!

Touch of silver is the purple one I use - get it in pound shops - I get the brightening one and only really use it in her tail and white legs. Used it this aft and she then rolled with gusto on turnout!!
