Any recommendations on the best brush/tool for a very old cat? She quite enjoys being brushed, but the brush we have it’s abit knackered now so want to upgrade - preferably to something that’s REALLY GOOD at removing the loose hair, as she has a lot of it!

I use a small slicker brush for dead hair removal. My previous cat thought it was the best thing ever & literally used to rub himself on it to get you to keep brushing... Current cat tolerates it but not as enthusiastically. Furminator or similar grooming rake can be good if they're shedding a lot as well (petface do a cheap knockoff)

We also use a small slicker brush, for two very thick coated BSHs. They both come running over if they see me get the brush out, so it's definitely popular. I did try a furminator but neither of them liked it and I don't think it was right for their coats. Grooming gloves were about medium - the cats didn't mind them but they didn't pick up as much hair as the slicker brush (can you tell we get a lot of fluff shed in our house?!).

KevinKat has a thick coat which has become thicker as time has gone on.
I use a Furminator to work over the long coat on his back and sides, and a slicker for his fluffy legs, belly and chest.
He seems to think that this is acceptable: result - a shiny, handsome Kat!
