As title really, we are moving from a horsebox to a trailer - we are looking for a single horse trailer that will take a 17.1hh Dutch Warmblood. I have researched several and although the dimensions internally are identical one company says their trailer will carry a 17.1 and the other says for a 16.2

Does anyone here carry a 17hh+ in a single trailer and what would you recommend to buy. Also what do you tow it with - I will have to buy another car and my OH has wonderfully offered to pay - secondhand about £4,000

All suggestions gratefully received.

I am no expert, but my I love my ifor single. I know I don't have a 17hander, far from it but if a 17hander didn't fit in the trailer then I'd eat my hat as they are roomy for one!
Me, unloading 'ickle Penny 11hands approx, and we swam in the trailer!! lol

We tow using a ford mondeo, legal. We don't have a 4x4 so a single trailer was our only option.... and I love it!

Photo a bit big eh? - Don't look at me too closely!! lol

I had an Ifor single and it was great, my horse was 15.3hh.
However (I could be wrong) the Ifor trailers only take up to a 16.3hh and if you want something for something taller then you have to go for their 510 model which is a double trailer but has extra height.
Best checking out their website.
