New horse has pink and white nose so will need suncream, assuming summer ever comes back. Never had to use suncream on a horse before so has anyone got any recommendations please? Thanks

I used to use ordinary waterproof sun cream designed for children - the spray type works best though - the cream ones just rub off.

snap, mine and sis horse both have pink noses and we slap suncream on plus use these nose nets with leather headcollars. Tried the field safe one but it didn't last the day as the play with each other and it broke very quickly

Try to get the kids suncreams factor 50 - 60, waterproof, sensitive skin, fragrance free etc just in case their nose net comes off. have to say this combination works very well

Ditto that, my old horse had a really pink nose and it would last him all day

I personally prefer to use a cashal crusader with the nose extension - keeps my boys nose in perfect pink kissable condition as it provides UV protection. Cairo has his on whenever he is turned out, often 24 x 7 for days without a problem.

If I am at a show, I use what I normally put on myself.

sudocrem works very well as it is so thick it blocks out the sun or high factor suncream.

my pony hates wearing the nose nets so i cant use them, he is also headshy and scared of sprays so i cannot use spray sun lotion!

it is very difficult putting suncream on a headshy pony!

ive only just joined this forum and am so impressed with it and everyones eagerness to help. i have just bought a cob with a pink nose and will be going to boots tomorrow morning, and doing a sun dance haha.

Have used sudocreme for past 5 years on pink nosed mare. It is also great if they do start to get any scabby bits on their nose due to sunburn. Mine is in during the day which also helps so only gets early morning & evening sun which is not so strong. Who's got sun anyway? - it has been like february in Scotland today!

I am also new to this posting thing. We use the Cashel masks with noses and back up with Factor 50 roll on from boots. This goes on really thick, you can still see it in the evening.

I used to use the Boots factor 50 + sunblock stick that looked like a giant tube of lipsalve, doesnt wash/rub/graze off, great stuff, easy to apply
