Wonder if anyone can recommend supplements/supplement . My horse is in great condition and has a good balanced diet however his feet are not the best and need some added support, can anyone recommend a supplement. Also his a big moving horse and i would like to feed a joint supplement more for support as doesnt seem to be suffering from any conditions as yet, would be great to get any idea of what people have tried and tested before i fork out any cash!!!! thanks!

My little grey used to have terrible feet and I used Formula4Feet which was excellent. I tried Farriers Formula, but he refused to eat it.

You do have to feed any foot supplement for quite a long time before you see any results as it takes at least 9 months for a full hoof to grow. I feed both my heavy horses Feedmark's ExtraFlex HA for their joints.

Check out vetvits (an on line company based in Jersey) They do one called Equi hoof and one call equi flex, I've been using their products for ages and think that they work really well. My farrier commented how good my mares feet had got since adding the supplement, and I can hear the difference in the flex one as no joints clicking anymore!! Reasonable prices too.

Horse supplements direct do joint and hoof product delivered free.I use the hoof on my tb and it has helped the joint I used on a pony with locking stifles but I would recommend newmarket joint supplement. There was a post on the site a few days ago for joint supplements with lots of opinions if you want some feedback.

I have used EquiFlex by Vet Vits for 4 years with good results. I did try the hoof supplement, but prefer FeedMark's Hardy Hoof Formula - 33% extra free at the moment as well, and IF you go to Badminton they usually have a 50% extra free offer on.

We used Farriers Formula on one of our ponies who got very serious laminitis about 15 years ago - it really helped his hoof condition. Its expensive but you only feed a tiny amount so lasts ages, and they are tiny cubes so you can feed them easily by hand.

For joints - NAF Superflex is brilliant.
